Internet Marketing Success Requires More Than Just Technical Support

· 10 Comments · Motivational

You have launched yourself into the world of internet marketing and are serious about making money online, or you wouldn’t even be here, right? And probably one of the first things you realized is that “technical support” has become your best friend…unless you are a techie whiz, right again? Even if you command relatively impressive computer skills in the offline business world, your confidence level can take a serious blow upon entering cyberspace. Trust me – I know!

You are not alone, so if you are serious about your dream, don’t give up. The fog will start to clear, understanding will begin to dawn, and your frustrations will begin to melt away once you have found the right support systems – both technical and personal.

I know what happened. You excitedly started looking for information about how to start an online business. You started buying e-books and reports promising to fulfill your dream of raking in huge sums of cash virtually overnight.

Then suddenly, incomprehensible terms and acronyms – wysiwyg?? – ftp? – public_html? – were being thrown at you from every direction. OMG! (Finally… a term you could understand.) So now what? Suddenly (that word again…all of a sudden everything is happening suddenly), your dream not only looks much farther away than overnight, but perhaps even impossible. “I can’t DO this stuff!”, you say. “I don’t even understand what everyone is SAYING to me, let alone understand how to do it!”

So now you need to find the right support systems or you’ll never be able to get your blog or your website set up properly. I see a lot of frustration and discouragement out there, and I don’t want you to quit! Forming relationships, reaching out, asking questions, and joining forums are all recommended and desirable activities in internet marketing. So the sooner you begin to forge those bonds, the easier things will be for you.

I have always had trouble asking for help. Part of that stems from being painfully shy as a child, part if it stems from embarrassment and the fear of looking stupid, and the rest is likely due to just plain stubbornness. You might struggle with some of those same issues. If so, get over it! :)

No one survives in this business alone and, in fact, those who begin to develop internet relationships and partnerships have a head-start on the rest of us.

I finally “got it” that I needed to reach out, that I can’t do it on my own, that I shouldn’t even try, so in my next few posts I will share with you some valuable resources and connections that will help you along the way to your success. We’ll talk about technical issues, developing internet relationships, maintaining a positive attitude, and controlling stress and burnout, among other things.

I want to talk about what you want to hear about though, so please let me know what areas interest you the most.

Yes, home business is a lot more tricky than it sounds. especially for non-tec people like me.

I agree about not making it alone on the internet. When you are new and not a techie person you are often tempted to get every program that offers to help you. I know I was there when I started. I read every new ebook that I could buy. I made several people wealthy.
However there comes a time when you just have to start taking action.

Following the people who are around Alex Sysoef is a great place to start. Posting on this blog shows that you have gotten this far. You are off to a start.

I discovered a coaching group that is great, but then I am biased because I coach for them. However I started out as a member, too.
We offer classes that are live and interactive 7 days a week. I learned more in the first Ebay class then I learned by buying several books on the subject. I won’t put my link in here because I did not comment to promote, but you can find the link on my blog (shameless plug).

You can get good tech help from reputable web hosts as far as getting started. I am also one who reads lots of help menus and the WordPress forum for my blogging help, and lots and lots of blogs.

One thing I have found is that most people who comment or have nice blogs like this one are always willing to help answer questions. Most of us have not forgotten the early days.
