Internet Marketing Training — 3 Top Notch Resources

· 9 Comments · Resources

In my last post I mentioned the importance of having technical help when you are starting an online business and don’t know what you’re doing when it comes to all the “geek stuff”. Without the help of some key people, I would never have made it this far, so I wanted to take a minute to offer my thanks and give them a little plug.

I know that many of us starting out in affiliate marketing or other types of internet business are older and have ventured into this mostly unknown territory for similar reasons. Some of us were “offered” early retirement and find ourselves without a job before we were ready. Some of us are able to finally quit our jobs and work from home. Others may have already retired and want (or need) to make some extra income.

Since we didn’t grow up with computers, we had to learn later in life, sometimes through our jobs, sometimes on our own in a “hunt and peck” sort of method. A few of us lucky enough to have kids or grandkids who grew up with computers and seem to know them by osmosis, can call on them for help. Those of us who aren’t so lucky find ourselves in a frustrating, confusing world, not quite knowing where to turn.

So I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to some resources I have found who not only have the knowledge, not only have established a business in which they offer information and training, but who also actually CARE about their subscribers.

One of my main requirements…and I k now many of you share this…is easy-to-understand, step-by-step directions, with a coach/trainer/ mentor who is willing – and available – to answer questions on an individual basis within a reasonable time frame. Such resources are usually membership sites where you pay a monthly fee. For the right information, this can be the best money you spend. I have found three such sites that I have used and can wholeheartedly recommend.

One of the first helpful sites I found is Tony Shepherd’s Kickstart Course. This is a 52 week internet start-up course, consisting of practical weekly lessons and assignments which teach you how to set up and promote your online business. The information is not only easy to follow, but it’s presented in an entertaining manner. Tony shares personal insights, and he has a responsive support system in place.

The next resource I use and highly recommend is Expert WordPress, founded by Alex Sysoef and Dmitriy Agadzhanov, which is where I learned how to set up this blog. They are true blogging experts! They provide a vast library of information, but they also provide you with a Blueprint to follow as you watch their step-by-step video instructions. Their motto is “Your Satisfaction is my #1 Priority!” – and they MEAN it! I have learned a lot from them, and they have never let me down when I needed help.

The third resource I use and highly recommend is Chris Farrell’s Membership site. Chris is a warm and friendly person who remembers well his start-up struggles, and he helps others achieve their goals by providing step-by-step videos on how to “Create Your First Website by 3:45 This Afternoon”, along with one of the most active and welcoming forums I have encountered. He (and the forum members) truly can take you, at your own pace, from knowing nothing to creating your own website.

Each of these resources provide a wealth of information, each with their own special topics and unique personalities. If you are looking for training and information, take a look at their websites to see what might work best for you. If you can afford it…I say join them all! In my humble opinion, you can’t go wrong with any of them.

Hey thanks for the resources. I am always looking for new resources to help me in my online business. I have heard of all of your resources but Chris Ferrell. Since he seems to be geared toward the newbie I need to take a look at his program. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for stopping by, Larry! I have benefited as much from the forum on Chris Farrell’s site as I have from his step-by-step newbie information. The people there are full of helpful hints and encouragement…like nothiing else I have experienced.

You are so right about why some people are getting involved with internet marketing and very true that we do not all have the skills required to do this job.

We need to educate ourselves and at first we think we can do it on our own. I have not heard about Tony Shepherd or Chris Ferrel’s site and will check them out.

I do know Alex and belong to his Expert WordPress membership and have learnes a great deal from Alex – well worth the price of admission – thanks Alex.

The other thing i would recommend is joining a mastermind group of some sort. Being able to share ideas with like minded people is a big help.
Thanks for the post and resources

Luca, thanks for visiting. I have heard good things about MasterMind groups. At this time I think I am gaining much of the same encouragement and information from the forum on Chris Farrell’s site, but I haven’t been involved with a MasterMind group so I may be wrong. But the folks there are amazing and are at various stages in their businesses, from newbies onward, which allows me to help and be helped within the same group…a good feeling and a great resource!
