Affiliate Income Source

Are you a dreamer? I know I am – always have been, I guess. It likely started as a young girl when my nose was buried in books every second of every day. I just couldn’t get enough of reading and one of my earliest memories is of looking at all the books in our small (tiny actually) grade school library and feeling a burning desire to read every one of them! I nearly accomplished that goal too, although I admit I purposely did not read the truly dry and boring books, the ones either too technical, or those that were written strictly for “boys”….ugh. I guess dreams and burning desires pretty much go hand-in-hand, so those early days of seeing the world through so many eyes and realizing how little I knew of it started my dreams – and my burning desires. 

I am considered a senior citizen now (though only in the minds of others!)…very far from that young girl, both in age and experience…but I have never stopped dreaming and I never will. In my 50+ years I have had many, many dreams…both grandiose and small…most of which have never come true, but it is surprising how many actually have when I stop and reflect on it. Many of our dreams can come true if we just take the necessary steps to make them happen, but others fall purely to the winds of fortune and no matter how hard we dream or wish, we have no control over making them happen.

I am living one of my dreams right now, and another one will take the form of reality later this week. The dream I’m living is one I’m creating right now through my own efforts. The dream that will come true later in the week fell into my lap through just one small move on my part.

I am creating my own bright future by embarking on my tenth, that is 10th…tenth?!?!….yes, tenth…career!! And that career is in internet marketing, as you might have guessed. I first became aware that money could be made on the worldwide web way back in about 1994 when “www” was a pretty new phenomenon and not everyone believed such a thing was possible. But it all seemed so unattainable and scary at that point. There were so many scams online then, and there were few sources of reliable information to sort things out, or at least ones that convinced me. So I explored the idea a bit and then moved on, but I always had a dream that someday the time would be right for me to make money on the internet.

My nine other careers have in some ways prepared me quite well for this new endeavor, and in other ways they are probably a hindrance, so don’t think that you need to have any particular background to succeed in internet marketing. I have been a secretary (for you youngsters, that is now called an administrative assistant), an office manager, a business administrator, a business consultant, a salesperson, a business owner, an insurance agent, a closet designer, and a licensed real estate agent. In all but two of these careers (which were monetary failures!) I made a living, some very good, some not so good, but I learned and grew and met incredible people with each new endeavor.

I just began creating my new dream in the last few months, so though I have seen only a few trickles of $$ so far, I have learned an amazing amount about this business and feel the same burning desire to succeed as I did about reading all the books in the library. And I am even learning the technical stuff now so that I can succeed beyond even my wildest dreams.

So in this blog I plan to share this dream journey with those of you who are interested. If you are also striving to make your mark in the internet marketing world, some of what I have learned may help you along your way, or it may save you from making the same mistakes. Oh yes, I have made some mistakes along the way here. So check back in any time to see how I’m doing. I would be interested to hear your story too.

Oh yes….about my other dream? I’ll tell you tomorrow. You aren’t going to believe it!!
