Getting backlinks – especially from authority sites – is an important part of blog or website promotion, but most of us take it way too seriously, and by taking this serious approach, we make it so HARD. I want to make it fun and even learn something along the way.
Every day in my internet travels I come across interesting information and articles that I wish I had written; articles that open my eyes to new concepts, explain a technical feature I had been unclear on, or that just make me smile…or cry. I continue to be amazed each day at the knowledge and creativity of so many of you!
In previous posts I have been talking about relationships and reaching out to this vast community of experience and diversity that we find in cyberspace, about helping each other and getting over “going it alone”. So I am introducing a new Category to Affiliate Income Source, called “Guest Stars”. Watch for the first article.
Topics that may be of general interest to the readers here will be included, so they won’t necessarily be restricted to affiliate or internet marketing. The articles could include various subjects, ranging from motivational, inspirational, to educational and recreational…whatever.
I know this won’t be for everybody, but if you would be interested in sharing a corner of my blog, send me your article attached to an email. You can include a link to your site, with a brief bio. And then, guess what? A backlink; one more place to show off your writing skills! Now wait…I’m not claiming that this is an authority site…yet. But remember how you go about eating an elephant. One bite at a time. So take a bite and let’s have some fun.
Please be aware, however, that in order to maintain the integrity of my site I retain the right to approve all articles before publication, and a few I might not publish at all. Oh, come on…you know you would do the same.

interesting idea. it's been almost a year since the post, how is it working now?
curious because everyone talks about back links. thanks for the answer
Hi Marcia,
I had good response initially, however, no one really followed through…including me! My direction changed a bit so I didn’t do any followup to encourage the process to work. I still think it would work well, as all parties involved would increase traffic and I think some good relationships could be developed, plus I do believe backlinks are necessary. I plan to pursue the idea again at some point. I have piled my plate a little high and need to streamline my objectives, then I’ll be back at it.
Thanks for visiting!
